A gorgeous day here in DC - perfect for running :(

Biked 5 miles to the office to meet up with my friend and co-worker Diego, Venezuelan guy who has become one of my best friends in the area and I love him like a brother. He was having trouble with his bike, so I took it to my bicycle maintenance class last week and fixed it myself! Changed a derrailour cable and moved a few things around that were misplaced and put some lube on his chain. We biked 10 miles to Carderock on the C&O Canal and 10 miles back. We were going SUPER slow but he's not in good shape, so as I was cruising about he was huffing and puffing and sweating behind... but we had a good time, talked a lot mainly about relationships (he recently broke up with his girlfriend so I'm acting as his therapist) and his best friend has a big crush on me so he was telling me how to handle it since I'm not interested in him... Aaaanyway, we biked back to the office, got some food, and I biked back home for 30 nice miles for the day. At least I managed to get outside on such a nice day.

I'll be taking the day completely off tomorrow and back to aqua jogging and biking during the week, and hopefully will find a coach to learn to swim freestyle, since I got some referrals.

Happy running!

Sounds like you're really finding different ways to get your cardio workouts in Lucia. I'm glad you have your bike so you can keep training. I remember Diego...he's a great guy! Hope you had a great weekend!

Jill, the volunteer coordinator for the race never wrote me back, so I didn't want to make it all the way to the race to find out they didn't need volunteers... I'm glad to hear you had a good race, can't wait to read about it!

Marion, my friend was really happy with his bike fixed, it's a great feeling!

Aaron, I forgot you met Diego... I need to be careful with what I write about him now :)

No worries Lucia...your secrets are safe with me. I seem to remember that you and I talked about someone else (not to be named) wanting to date you.

I like Diego quite a lot....he was a really nice guy!

LOL Aaron! I really do say too much when I talk during a run!

Yes, we need to take him and the others on another hike soon... unless you're already in Denver!

Lucia...runs are good for that. Let me know when you want to go on another hike...I look forward to hitting the hills!
