Five VERY sluggish miles from home to work this morning... a BEAUTIFUL morning here in DC, though I was hoping for that fresh after-rain smell and instead got some fresh GARBAGE smell throughout the city... At least it's sunny and not too hot. It took me a while to warm up, as my legs felt tired from the weekend race and trail runs. My left hip feels tight, need to stretch it. My shins are hurting a little but not bad considering the weekend mileage. Now I'll try to run home after school tonight and log in 4.5 more for a nice double day!

------------

4.5 miles from Dupont Circle to home after school, on a GORGEOUS evening in DC - the full moon was high up, not too hot, not too humid - just perfect. My legs felt funny... hard to explain, just little pains here and there, nothing to worry about (I hope).

Don't you love the smell of garbage in the morning? :) Have fun at school tonight!

I'm glad you liked the innervoice 'screenplay.' I lack traning and am never sure how far to run post race or how hard to push. I picked your blog as one of my favoirtes because I love how you write about all the different places you run around DC. My sister lives in Alexandria and I love to run when I'm back there. Keep up the blogging--it's like a mini vacation in DC when I read your blog(even the garbage smells). I'm going back in August and I'll have to do a 17 miler one of those weekends. Give me a tip on where I can 'sight-see' via that 17 miler. P.S. Running while in school-- now THAT is a challenge.

Luzylew, I'm sure between me, Aaron, and Ben we can give you great running routes when you come visit in August. For a 17-miler, you can do a great loop seeing the mall, the C&O Canal, the Mt. Vernon trail, and the W&OD trail, running in VA and DC, and crossing the Potomac a couple of times. Let's be in touch! Keep up the good work and keep making us laugh with your blog!
