Just another single 30-year old Argentine girl living the American dream in Washington DC and trying to run faster. Graduated from Southern Utah University in 2003, then moved to DC. I have a full-time job as research economist for an association in the transportation industry and I'm attempting to get my Master's degree in Economics from Johns Hopkins, part-time, while keeping my sanity!

PM, did a spin class. This instructor had much better taste on music, and it was a hard class, but I didn't like it. She didn't mix things up enough for my taste. I liked the very first instructure I took a class with, because she told us at the beginning of every interval how long we'd stay there, and how hard she wanted us to go, like "3 minutes at 70%, then we increase resistance", so I know what's coming. The other two girls I've had as instructors would just spin around and yell "come on" "keep it up" "just a little more" and that's about it...

Biked home in the cold afterwards. Whenever I start feeling so special and cool for biking in the cold, I see another biker chick that looks cooler than  me. But I'm faster. And oh well, there are a few more cool people like me in DC, big deal. I bet they didn't break their jaws and biked themselves to the hospital afterwards, right???

That was AWESOME!!! I love that!

Hey- how is the jaw doing? Is it sore? How is eating?

From Lucia on Tue, Nov 25, 2008 at 14:27:06

Thanks Marion! Pass it on!

The jaw is doing ok. Braces come off December 1. It's nice to be able to eat, but it hurts and the sores in my mouth are yucky. The wax stuff helps though. 5.5 days, I can do it! Now I need to make sure I can keep the weight I lost off!

Did you try some vegetarian tot-chos?

From Lucia on Tue, Nov 25, 2008 at 15:34:15

Not yet! Where was the recipe again??? Which date in your blog?

From Montelepsy on Tue, Nov 25, 2008 at 15:38:09

It was on Marion's blog. From what I remember there's cheese, sour cream, and avocados on tots. Help us Ms Marion!

From marion on Tue, Nov 25, 2008 at 15:53:45

Tot-Chos!!! Yumm ;) Bake those tots to a crispy golden brown. Then put cheese and beans (ground beef for us meat eaters ;) Once the cheese is melted then add whatever you like on nachos, sour cream, guacamole, tomatoes, salsa, etc. It was one of those "CRAP- there is nothing for dinner, so voila!" meals. It's weird, but if you have a hankerin' for Tot's, it'll hit the spot ;D The whole meal cracked my girls up!

heaven... sounds like heaven... I can't really chew anything too crispy though, so it may have to wait a few weeks... plus I can imagine the avocados getting all over my braces... Maybe Monday!!!

Funny Lucia! I have actually had guys harass me on my run because of my hot girl like body. They were in a convertible and were whistling and yelling sweet vulgarities at me until they got next to me and saw I was a guy. I just yelled THANKS! and I heard the passenger laugh and say that was a dude! Oh good times!

From Lucia on Wed, Nov 26, 2008 at 09:29:11

That is hilarious Walter!!! How are you feeling today?

From Kelli on Wed, Nov 26, 2008 at 14:14:49

I love the smack to the dope MC!! Funny!

How much weight did you lose through this ordeal?

HAPPY THANKSGIVING tomorrow, I hope you can enjoy some good food!

From Lucia on Wed, Nov 26, 2008 at 14:46:25

Ehem... Kelli, I'm so glad you asked that.. ehem... ehhh... :)

After the initial 12 lbs, I didn't lose anything more. Very disappointing, but hey, it's 12 lbs. and now I'm 8 lbs from my goal instead of 20. Drinking Ensure and other meal replacement drinks or juice drinks with too much carbs was my mistake... plus pudding and ice cream...

Happy thanksgiving to you as well!

From Kelli on Wed, Nov 26, 2008 at 15:13:39

That is still AWESOME!!! I do not know if I could have gone through what you did, so at least you got the perk of "easy" weight loss, right??

You will keep it off and you will lose the last 8 faster than I will lose my NOW 8 pounds!!!
