Last night we had a gorgeous sunset here in DC - some clouds, a bit windy, so beautiful I had to stop in the middle of my bike ride home to remind some fellow DCers to make sure they didn't miss the sky at that moment.

Today is just as beautiful. I rode my bike to the office, then to the Georgetown swimming pool (it's a small outdoor pool but everyone there was sunbathing, not many people were swimming, so me and my coach didn't have trouble finding room to swim. I am getting SO much better! I did 10 laps, then he began to teach me the flip turn (HARD!!!!) and he tested how long I could keep my breath under water - I was able to hold it for 1 full minute. David Blaine here I come! :)

I'm eagerly awaiting for Jill to post her Annapolis ten miler results - It is very hot for a race, and humid, plus I hear the course is super hilly! But we all know she's one tough cookie!

I hope everyone in Utah that run several half marathons and full ones is getting some well-deserved rest and food!

43 days till I can run again! That's 43 days to improve my lung capacity, my freestyle stroke, and everything in between! My goals for this week are to continue to exercise at least two hours a day, either swimming, aqua jogging or biking.

What a great attitude you have. Injuries are best viewed not as setbacks but as opportunities to become stronger.

Paul, thank you for your comment, but most importantly, thank you for blogging about your condition - I learned a lot from reading your blog. Talk about having a good attitude, you definitely take the cake!

Nice swim soggy britches! Its good to have a comment posted to you by an Olympic marathon qualifier! I ran the TOU with him yesterday and he will be back to his fast as crap pace soon. I barely edged a 10k out on him a couple of weeks ago and yesterday he reminded me who I was dealing with! lol Im proud of you swimming so good! I think with your love of biking and when you get comfortable in the swim, you will be addicted to Tri's! I know there are not alot of runners that enjoy them. I find them very challenging and competitive.

Lucia- the kick turn is soo bad-ass!! you rock, sister- nice work. Who cares about your stroke? Just perfect the kick turn- that is what really counts. Just kidding, but seriously, I think the kick turn is what differentiates a true swimmer from a rec. swimmer. ok, ok, I will go post now on my hilly Annapolis run.

Jave a great week- I am in NJ today - and going to NH beach tonight- so i can't post again till next week! Boo hoo! talk soon chica, have a great week!

Thanks for the encouraging words and the heads up about the bad link on my website!

I just was reading some of "Found In Translation". Your attitude and strength is amazing. Many people would bury their head and beg for sympathy when faced with some of your setbacks this year..yet you are smiling and bouncing back stronger then ever. I applaud you!

Thanks for reminding me to find the good in every situation, even when it doesn't seem possible!

You are just smokin' Lucia! Flip turns are the mark of a real swimmer. You maybe noiced that Phelps did not swim the 50. He wins on his flip turns and race savy. Don't get me wrong, that boy is FAST, but he wins becuase he is stinkin smart and can really play the game.

This is SO sappy, but I am SO proud of you!! You are very cool :)
