Six GLORIOUS miles along the National Mall, by the Potomac river, all the monuments, and up the Old Post Office Pavillion to pick up my race packet to Sunday's Veteran's Day 10k. Running on shorts and a tank top and feeling super hot - it is summer again down here! I was thinking of poor Marion and others in Utah running in the snow already... though I do like running in cold weather... Team Roadbuilders only has 3 memeber for Sunday, unfortunately I couldn't get any of my co-workers to run the race. Lazy bums... I'm not sure how much my closed mouth is going to affect my speed - I can feel that I don't intake oxygen as easily with my mouth closed, plus this morning I had a bit of a congested nose... if it's not too cold, I should be OK breathing mostly through my nose. My friends Brian and Jenny are going to be running with me - Brian is fast but wants to stay with me and carry my scissors - so he will be my Scissor Boy! Jenny is a bit slower than us, but maybe since I'm running injured she'll be able to keep up with us. Jenny is thinking of running the Myrtle Beach marathon with me, since it's on her birthday. It will be awesome! Did I mention how much I love my running friends??? Wish me luck on Sunday and happy running! |
