Woke up at the crack of dawn to meet Chris's mom. Walked on the beach a little towards the 1/2 marathon course, to meet Chris and Rebecca along as they were running. We saw them at mile 1, then at mile 10, where we waited for about 1 hour listening to a fabulous band play great songs from Journey, the B-52s, Madonna, and many others. It was a blast, we were singing and dancing all along. Chris finished in 2:01 and Rebecca in 1:49. Everyone agreed that the humidity was brutal, so they were both disappointed with their times. And since I've never done a flat 1/2 marathon, I kept wondering what my time would've been. Sigh...

Went swimming in the ocean afterwards, then Chris and his mom took off to the outer banks where they're spending the rest of the week, and I to dinner with Rebecca, her wonderful family, and with them to the B-52s concert which was FABULOUS! We danced (well, jumped around) all night long. Then to bed early.

Tried to swim in the ocean but the ridiculous lifeguards wouldn't let me get 10 feet off the shore! So the waves were breaking on me, I couldn't get far off the shore to get a good swim! Very upsetting... Took a walk with my friend Rebecca, and then her friend Lauren picked us up for the long ride home... The beach weekend is over :(  I have to say Virginia Beach is not my cup of tea (waaaay too busy) but I enjoyed the experience.

Ohhhh yes, for once I was able to count my laps of pool jogging, up until 16 laps, that makes 1,600 meters which is indeed one mile!  I was in the pool for 2 hours after work, one hour swimming and one hour aqua jogging, most of it without the belt. Why does that sound like an addiction? "Hi, my name is Lucia and I'm an aqua jogger" :)

Also biked to work and back, and to the pool and back, 11 miles. It was HOT out today!

Biked to work and back; then spent 1.5 hours in the swimming pool. I was going to do mostly jogging, but the pool was EMPTY, which is unheard of, so I felt like I had to use the lanes! I felt tired though, probably because I haven't been eating well. I'm thinking of joining weightwatchers online again - it's worked for me in the past, and since Marion and some other of the wonderful blogger ladies are in it, they may help me stay on track. The blog works so well to motivate me with my exercise, it may work to motivate me with food too!

After the pool I got home, cleaned up, and got to make food for tomorrow's Hill intern reunion - I'm meeting with a bunch of girls who interned on Capitol Hill with me ohhhhh... 5 years ago already, yikes! Should be fun. I made some corn empanadas and attempted to make Cherry Garcia ice cream but wasted 2 cups of cream, 2 eggs, 1 cup of sugar and 1 cup of milk because something was bad; probably the milk or the cream... i hate waste!

With all the cooking and cleaning I didn't get to bed till 1... so tomorrow will be a forced day off, as I really need the sleep... not really ideal, but it happens.

Lots of rain, depressing day, did nothing at all but sit home reading and cuddling with my one and only friend in this world, Salem.
